Anniversary Statement: DA 40NG, G-LDGB, 16 May 2023

This statement provides an update on the AAIB investigation into a serious incident involving a DA 40NG, single piston aircraft, G-LDGB, 3 nm north-west of Oxford Airport on 16 May 2023.

Whilst conducting an instrument flying training lesson the rear door detached from the aircraft. The aircraft landed safely.  The investigation is ongoing, and the final report will be published later on in the year.
