Government responses to Emergency Preparedness
Response to consultation on chapters of Emergency Preparedness guidance.

1 May 2012

At Phase 1 of the Civil Contingencies Act Enhancement Programme, we revised Chapters 2 (Co-operation) and Chapter 3 (Information Sharing) of Emergency Preparedness, as well as drafting a new Chapter 19 The Fit with Other Legislation.

Following consultation on those chapters in 2010, the final versions were published in February 2011, alongside reports on the Consultations (see below).

In Phase 2, we revised Chapter 5 (Emergency Planning); Chapters 10, 11 and 12 (the Devolved Administrations); Chapter 14 (the Role of the Voluntary Sector); Chapter 15 (Sectors that should be involved in Emergency Planning) and the Glossary, now renamed Further Reading. Consultations were held in the spring of 2011, the final versions are now available alongside their reports (see below).

Further consultations were held in Summer and Winter 2011 with remaining Chapters published in Spring 2012.

Please note that these chapters and subsequent revised chapters will be only be available online - hardcopy editions will no longer be printed.
