2010 update to the Greenhouse Gas Conversion Factors for Company Reporting
The conversion factor dataset is updated on an annual basis.

Defra, in partnership with Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), has published the 2010 update to the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Conversion Factors for Company Reporting.

The dataset is now available on our conversion factors page.

The conversion factor dataset is updated on an annual basis and is intended for use in conjunction with Defra / DECC’s ‘Guidance on how to measure and report your GHG emissions’ which was published in October 2009 and is available on our measuring and reporting environmental impacts page:

The conversion factors have been published in a PDF and as a simple Excel tool. Major updates to the emissions factors this year are the inclusion of indirect emissions for fuels and electricity, the expansion of shipping emissions factors and improved biomass / biofuel emissions factors. A methodology paper for the 2010 emissions factors will be available on the website from the end of August.
