It is four years since the tragic helicopter accident in Leicester and our thoughts are of the five people who sadly lost their lives that evening, their families and all of those affected by their loss.
The investigation has proved to be technically very complex and has required an extremely thorough and detailed investigation which has involved the helicopter manufacturer, other specialist organisations and regulators to fully understand what initiated the failure of the tail rotor duplex bearing.
Two Special Bulletins Special Bulletin S1/2018 and Special Bulletin S2/2018 were published concerning this investigation and were published on 14 November 2018 and 6 December 2018 respectively.
The AAIB has now concluded its investigation into the accident and expects to publish a detailed final report in early 2023.
