The GCA Annual Conference 2022: “The Code for a changing world” took place online on 28 September. Over 1,000 people registered to attend and hear from the Adjudicator and a range of expert guest speakers. The conference focused on challenges the grocery sector is facing and support available for suppliers, and included:
- Mark White setting out his priorities as Adjudicator, including improving training for buyers and ensuring fair treatment of suppliers requesting cost price increases.
- Retailers describing how they are incorporating the 7 Golden Rules for cost price increase requests into their processes, and explaining that suppliers can contact Retailer Code Compliance Officers confidentially if they have any concerns.
- An insight into suppliers’ issues from the GCA annual survey and the follow-on deep dive interviews conducted with several suppliers, and an invitation to suppliers to contact the GCA confidentially and anonymously about those and any other Code related issues.
