Increasing capacity: Family legal aid providers
We are seeking additional capacity in family legal aid services to strengthen access and availability.

We would like to increase capacity to support timely access to legal advice and representation.

We are inviting organisations to submit bids to deliver family legal aid work in the following areas:

  • Dorset
  • Dudley
  • East Sussex
  • Hartlepool
  • Knowsley
  • Sandwell
  • Solihull
  • St. Helens

Providers can apply at any time. Successful applicants will deliver work under the 2024 Standard Civil Contract.

We intend to award contracts to commence as soon as possible after the verification process is complete.

Why is this happening now?

Families use legal aid when dealing with issues such as domestic abuse, care proceedings or disputes involving children. To maintain strong coverage, we need more organisations to deliver legal aid.

Who can apply?

We are welcoming applications from:

  • current legal aid providers who would like to expand
  • new organisations entering the legal aid market
  • organisations able to meet the contract’s quality and supervisory standards

Where can I find out more?
