Employers take gold for their support of UK Armed Forces
Five employers have been presented with the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award

Julian Brazier, Minister for Reserves, presented Carillion, Systems Consultants Services Ltd (SCS), Royal College of Nursing, BT, and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust their award certificates at Admiralty House in London.

Launched in July 2014, the Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) scheme recognises employers who actively support Defence and encourage organisations to adopt the same behaviours in their workplace.

To qualify for a bronze, silver or gold award within the scheme, employers pledge, demonstrate or advocate support and commitment to Defence personnel.

Whilst presenting the awards Julian Brazier said:

Thank you to you all for all that you’ve done and for all that you continue to do to help those on whom we rely to safeguard our shores and protect our prosperity. You have set the highest benchmark for future Gold Award contenders.

In addition to the Gold Award winners, more than 358 employers have received the Silver Award since the scheme was launched. Increasing numbers of employers have registered their intent to support Defence and received the Bronze Award.

The award holders for each category, with brief descriptions of their support activities can be viewed via the ERS website
