Lord-Lieutenant for North Yorkshire: Barry Dodd
The Queen has approved the appointment of Mr Barry Dodd CBE as Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant for North Yorkshire.

The Queen has been pleased to appoint Mr Barry Dodd CBE as Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant for North Yorkshire to succeed Lord Crathorne when he retires after 15 years in office on 12 September 2014.

Biographical Notes

Barry Dodd is a serial entrepreneur who has a passion for creating employment in rural areas and for providing job opportunities for ex-offenders and the young unemployed. For the past decade he has devoted at least one day per week to unpaid public service, including as Chairman of the York and North Yorkshire with East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership, Pro-Chancellor and Chair of Council of the University of Hull and Chair of the joint Hull, York Medical School.

He lives at Thormanby near Easingwold.
