Lord-Lieutenant for Tweeddale: Professor Sir Hew Strachan
Professor Sir Hew Strachan is appointed as the new Lord-Lieutenant of Tweeddale.

The Queen has been pleased to appoint Professor Sir Hew Strachan as Lord-Lieutenant of Tweeddale to succeed Captain Sir David Younger KCVO who retires on 20 May 2014.

Professor Sir Hew Strachan is a Fellow of All Souls, holding the Chichele Chair of the History of War at Oxford. Sir Hew is currently serving as a Deputy Lieutenant of Tweeddale. With the rank of Brigadier in The Queen’s Bodyguard for Scotland, the Royal Company of Archers, Sir Hew is also an accomplished author and historian. He lives at the family farm of Glenhighton near Broughton.
