New ministerial appointment: Lord Bates

The Queen has been pleased to approve the following ministerial appointment:

• The Rt Hon Lord Bates as a Minister of State at the Department for International Development

Background

This is an unpaid ministerial role.

Lord Bates will take on the ministerial responsibilities at DfID currently being covered by the Rt Hon Baroness Anelay of St Johns DBE, who will continue in her role as a Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
