A Downing Street spokesperson said:
This evening the Prime Minister spoke with President Erdogan of Turkey to express her shock and sadness at the recent terrorist attack in Istanbul.
The Prime Minister passed on her condolences and utterly condemned the attack, reiterating that the UK stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Turkey against all forms of terrorism.
President Erdogan thanked the Prime Minister for her call and both the Prime Minister and the President said they looked forward to their next meeting.
