Prime Minister David Cameron's statement on the 50th anniversary of Malawi's independence

The Prime Minister said:

I would like to congratulate the people of Malawi who celebrate 50 years of independence on 6 July. The people of the UK share a close and long-standing friendship with Malawi.

The UK has stood with Malawi since independence and I look forward to working with the government and people of Malawi in the years ahead.
