Independent inquiry into historical child sexual abuse
When asked about the Home Secretary’s oral statement on the Independent Panel Inquiry Into Child Sexual Abuse, the Prime Minister’s Official Spokesperson (PMOS) said the Prime Minister shared her view, adding that it was important to put the victims at the heart of the inquiry, and learn the lessons of the past.
EU budget
When asked about the recent revision of the UK’s contribution to the EU budget, the PMOS said it was not appropriate to ask for this scale of payment, on the timetable specified. The PMOS added that the focus was now on the Chancellor’s forthcoming meetings with other European partners and the Commission in Brussels on Friday.
London Living Wage
When asked about the ‘London Living Wage’ the PMOS said the government was clear that the right balance must be struck between job creation, and helping hard working families have more take-home pay. The PMOS added the government was open to what more could be done, so long as it could be achieved in an affordable way.
