Press briefing: afternoon 8 December 2014
The Prime Minister's Official Spokesperson answered questions about food banks and proposals to lower the voting age.

Food banks

When asked about the All Party Parliamentary Group on Hunger and Food Poverty’s report ‘Feeding Britain’, the Prime Minister’s Official Spokesperson (PMOS) said the government would look at the recommendations set out in the report. The PMOS added that the central point of government in this regard was to increase people’s living standards, and support an economy which created jobs and cut people’s taxes.

Voting age

When asked about proposals to lower the voting age to 16 at general elections, the PMOS said the Prime Minister’s view hadn’t changed.
