Press briefing: afternoon 9 July 2014
The Prime Minister's Spokesperson (PMS) answered questions on the Home Office inquiry and strikes.

Home Office inquiry

When asked about Baroness Butler-Sloss’ status as the head of the inquiry, the Prime Minister’s Spokesperson (PMS) said the Prime Minister’s (PM) view had not and would not change.

Strikes

Asked if the PM wants employers to look sympathetically on parents tomorrow and if the government is allowing its employees to bring children to work, the PMS said the PM condemned the strikes because of the disruption it will cause parents, and other members of the public. It is for employers, with their workforces, to consider arrangements. The PMS added that the way to avoid disruption is for the strikes not to go ahead.
