Asked whether Prime Minister (PM) raised concerns with Viktor Orban about Hungary’s civil rights record, the PMS said no issues were off the table but the focus was on European economic growth and reform.
Death by dangerous driving sentencing
Asked if the PM wanted stronger penalties for the criminal offence of causing death by dangerous driving, the PMS explained that the Justice Secretary had asked the Sentencing Council to review this and it would be right to let this process take its course.
Decarbonised energy targets
Asked where the PM got his claim in PMQs about effect of decarbonised energy targets on bills, the PMS referred journalists to his political colleagues.
Marriage tax breaks
Asked whether the PM would correct the record on his statement in PMQs that all married couples on the basic rate of tax would benefit from marriage tax breaks, the PMS said there was no need. The PM had explained the position in the House.
