Press briefing: morning 11 July 2014
The Prime Minister's Spokesperson (PMS) answered questions on motor sports and Home Office documents.

Motor sports events

Asked for further detail on the Prime Minister’s (PM) announcement on local authorities being able to stage motor sport events on public roads, the Prime Minister’s Spokesperson (PMS) said that the public had been consulted on this matter and added that there had been many successful sporting events in the UK in recent years. He added that deregulation on this matter would encourage more UK sporting events and signal our ongoing commitment to this important high-tech sector. Local authorities would hold these types of events in consultation with communities.

Home Office documents

Asked whether the PM wanted to see the missing files handed over to the Home Affairs Select Committee (HASC) today, the PMS said that the Home Office Permanent Secretary would be replying to the chair of the HASC. The wider review would look at all the evidence and set out its findings.
