The Prime Minister's Official Spokesperson answered questions about the Muslim Brotherhood, the Middle East envoy and Grant Shapps.

Muslim Brotherhood

When asked about the expected report into the Muslim Brotherhood, the Prime Minister’s Official Spokesman (PMOS) said that the government has just updated the House with a Written Ministerial Statement confirming that it will be published alongside the government’s Counter-Extremism Strategy as soon as possible.

Middle East envoy

When asked about reporting regarding the role of Tony Blair as Middle East envoy, the PMOS said that the Prime Minister felt that he has been fulfilling an important role since 2007 as the quartet’s representative.

Grant Shapps

When asked about Grant Shapps and second jobs, confusion over the dates of employment the PMOS said that where a mistake has been made it should be explained, and went on to note that everything had been set out, as required, in the Register of Members’ Interests.
