Press briefing: morning 17 September 2015
The Prime Minister's Official Spokesperson answered questions about Scotland, the Anderson Report, Syria and the EU surcharge.

Scotland

When asked about reported suggestions for a second independence referendum, the Prime Minister’s Official Spokesperson (PMOS) said that the people of Scotland had voted decisively to remain part of the United Kingdom, adding that the Prime Minister thought that, rather than talking about separating, our efforts should be fixed on delivering more powers to Scotland.

Anderson Report

When asked about David Anderson’s annual report the PMOS said the government would consider its recommendations, whilst underlining the need to tackle the threat of radicalisation and prevent individuals being drawn into terrorism wherever it happened.

Syria

When asked about Syria, the PMOS said the Prime Minister had made his views on Syria and the situation there very clear, adding that the government was committed to reaching a political solution in the country.

EU surcharge

When asked about payment of the EU surcharge the PMOS said the UK had paid exactly what the Chancellor had set out last year.
