Privy Council Appointments
The Honourable Lord George Nigel Hannington Emslie is appointed to the Privy Council.

The Queen has been pleased to approve that The Honourable Lord George Nigel Hannington Emslie be sworn of Her Majesty’s most honourable Privy Council. 

Notes for Editors

The Honourable Lord Emslie was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1972 and became a QC (Scotland) in 1986.  He is a former Chairman of the Medical Appeals Tribunal and served as Dean, Faculty of Advocates from 1997 - 2001.  He became a Senator of the College of Justice in Scotland in 2001. He was appointed to the Inner House with effect from December 2010, following an increase in the number of judges in the Inner House.
