The Queen has approved the Rt Hon Lord Freud's resignation from government.

The Queen has approved the resignation from government of the Rt Hon Lord Freud.

Lord Freud will retire from his ministerial position at the Department for Work and Pensions at the end of December having served in the post since 2010.

The appointment of a successor DWP Minister in the House of Lords will be announced in due course.
