HRH the Duke of York, the UK’s Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, visited Export Credits Guarantee Department (ECGD) on 25 October 2010.
His Royal Highness, accompanied by ECGD’s chairman Guy Beringer and chief executive Patrick Crawford, toured ECGD’s business group, where he met many of the staff who work with exporters applying for ECGD support.
After his tour the Duke of York unveiled a plaque to commemorate his visit and spoke to ECGD’s staff. He said:
ECGD does a lot of very important work and should be better known by British exporters. Behind the companies you support are many others, who may not even be aware of how you have helped them.
I’m impressed with the way you’ve responded to the increased needs of exporters during the current difficult times. Keep on helping British businesses.
