Boundary Commission for Northern Ireland

The Commission's role is to keep under continuous review the number, names and boundaries of the parliamentary constituencies into which Northern Ireland is divided and to make recommendations about these to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.

Established 1986. The Chairman of the Commission is the Speaker of the House of Commons; however in practice Commission meetings are chaired by the Deputy Chairman. The current Deputy Chairman was appointed in September 2012.
