The Queen has approved a number of appointments to government.

The Queen has approved the following appointments:

  • Secretary of State for Defence - Rt Hon Gavin Williamson CBE MP
  • Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury (Chief Whip) - Julian Smith MP
  • Treasurer of HM Household (Deputy Chief Whip) - Rt Hon Esther McVey MP

Notes:

  • Rt Hon Gavin Williamson CBE MP was previously Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury (Chief Whip)
  • Julian Smith MP was previously Treasurer of HM Household (Deputy Chief Whip)
