The G7 meeting will provide an opportunity for the UK to work alongside partners from the largest economies in the world, to get the best for Britain and push forward in finding solutions to the challenges all countries face.
Arriving at the G7 meeting, Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne said:
Britain’s very proud to be hosting the G7 here today. The countries who will be turning up represent half the world’s economy.
The good news is that stability and confidence has returned to the global economy. But we still have more to do.
We’ve seen over the last few years that we’re all affected by what happens in our neighbouring countries. Here at the G7 I’m absolutely determined to focus on nurturing recovery - and not taking it for granted.
That’s what we are going to be doing today.
