His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant Certificates of Merit awards 2027 to 2028
Nominations are open for His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant Certificate of Merit awards 2027 and 2028.

His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant Certificates of Merit awards, hosted by RFCA for Wales, recognise outstanding service by reservists and cadet force adult volunteers. The awards supplement the New Year and Birthday Honours lists.

Lord-Lieutenants will give out these awards at 8 ceremonies across 2 years in each of the preserved counties of Wales on the following dates:

2027

  • Dyfed - 14 January, Picton Barracks, Carmarthen
  • Gwent - 28 January, Chapman VC House, Cwmbran
  • West Glamorgan - 18 February, John Chard VC House, Swansea
  • Clwyd - 4 March, Hightown Barracks, Wrexham

2028

  • Powys – Date TBC
  • Mid Glamorgan - Date TBC
  • South Glamorgan - Date TBC
  • Gwynedd - Date TBC

Nominations can be made and citations forwarded by Reserve unit Commanding Officers; Sea Cadet Corps District Officers; Army Cadet Force County Commandants; RAF Air Cadet Wing Commanders and Combined Cadet Force Contingent Commanders.

The following people can be nominated for awards:

  • adult volunteers serving with reserve forces
  • adult volunteers serving with cadets
  • civilian volunteers serving with cadets
  • civilian employees supporting reserve forces/cadets
  • regular service personnel serving with the cadet forces
  • RFCA members and staff

To nominate an individual for a Lord-Lieutenant Certificates of Merit, fill out and submit the Certificate of Merit Form.
