Petfood exported to Great Britain must be accompanied by the relevant health certificate if it is in the medium or high risk category.

Exporters should read the guide on how to complete a health certificate.

Certificate GBHC079X

Non-EU countries must use certificate GBHC079X.

Model health certificate for canned petfood (PET-C).

Certificate GBHC092X

Non-EU countries must use certificate GBHC092X.

Model health certificate for processed petfood other than canned petfood (PET-P).

Certificates GBHC093X and GBHC562

Non-EU countries must use certificate GBHC093X.

EU countries must use certificate GBHC562.

Model health certificate for raw petfood for direct sale or animal by-products to be fed to fur animals (PET-R).

Certificates GBHC130X and GBHC563

Non-EU countries must use certificate GBHC130X.

EU countries must use certificate GBHC563.

Model health certificate for dogchews (PET-D).

Certificate GBHC564

Must be used from 30 April 2024 by all countries.

Model health certificate for flavouring innards for use in the manufacture of petfood (PET-I).

Certificate GBHC565

Must be used from 30 April 2024 by all countries.

Model health certificate for animal by-products for the manufacture of petfood (PET-ABP).

Certificate GBHC194

Model health certificate for animal casings for the production of petfood or for technical purposes from New Zealand.

Model health certificate for processed animal protein for feedingstuffs from New Zealand.

Model health certificate for processed petfood from New Zealand.

Model health certificate for animal products for the manufacture of petfood or for use outside the feed chain from New Zealand.

Removed certificates GBHC560 PET-C (canned petfood) and GBHC561 PET-P (processed petfood). Canned and processed petfood from the EU is low risk and therefore no longer requires a health certificate.

We have updated certificates GBHC561, GBHC562 and GBHC564.We have also updated the 'use from' date for certificates GBHC560, GBHC561, GBHC562, GBHC563, GBHC564 and GBHC565. Use from date for EU changed to 31 January 2024. Use from date for non-EU countries changed to 30 April 2024.

We have added certificates GBHC560, GBHC561, GBHC563, GBHC565 and updated the version history.

We have removed all EU certificates ending in E for petfood. We are currently in the process of replacing these with new certificates that can be used by all countries. EU countries must use the new certificates from 31 October 2023. Non-EU countries can continue using certificates ending in X or start using the new certificates. We will communicate the deadline for non-EU countries switching to the new certificates in due course.

Updated the GBHC132X certificate to version 3.2. The previous version 3.1 will be accepted until 9 July 2023.

The previous version of certificates GBHC079X, GBHC079E, GBHC092X, GBHC092E, GBHC093X, GBHC093E, GBHC130X, GBHC130E, GBHC131X, GBHC131E, GBHC132X, and GBHC132E can be accepted until 1 June 2023.
