The Hallmarking Act 1973 makes provision for the Council to make standing orders to regulate its proceedings.
The orders include provision on the following topics:
frequency of meetings
the chairman
members conduct and interests
expense claims
Amendments to the previous standing orders (dated April 2019) were agreed by the Council in April 2022. A further amendment to the standing orders was agreed in October 2020 to allow for meetings to be held virtually.
