The Ecosystem of Trust is a theoretical border model for frictionless trade which the UK government committed to testing in the 2025 Border Strategy. It uses technology to harvest better and more secure data from within traders supply chains which enables trusted relationships between government and users of the border.
After an open and competitive process, six consortia were chosen to run pilots last July. Those pilots ran from October 2022 to March 2023 and have now been evaluated comprehensively, both by the government departments and agencies involved, and the 50+ members of consortia plus external experts involved since the outset.
