Centre for Defence Enterprise
IQHQ was funded by the Centre for Defence Enterprise (CDE) to research and develop a very high-resilience radio communication receiver for strategic and critical military infrastructure, such as military backbone networks and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) datalinks.
The dynamic, adaptive and resilient receiver design has a high immunity to adjacent and co-channel interference and several types of intentional jamming, making it particularly suited for military use.
IQHQ is now supplying prototypes of these units to key customers and plans to expand the technology into core programmes. The company is also developing related technologies using these receiver designs as building blocks for military, radio-based capabilities.
Maurice Husband, CEO of IQHQ says:
As an SME in the start-up mode, CDE provided the funding for us to develop advanced technology, which is now being supported by MOD and will enter service in the next 12 months.
Founded in 2009 and based in Malvern, Worcestershire, IQHQ develops state-of-the-art military-grade radio technologies. It has a range of patents and inventions in key technologies such as very high-resilience receiver design, spectrum management and through-wall penetration.
