The tournament, arranged by PC Mike Bowden, aimed to raise funds to support the North Highland Cancer Information and Support Centre (NHCISC), who offer emotional support and information about treatments and services to anyone affected by council in the local area.

The tournament took place at Naver playing fields in Thurso, where two CNC teams took on Caithness Ladies, Police Scotland, the Profile Guard Service and the Dounreay Fire and Rescue Service who won the overall tournament.

After the football tournament, a fundraising evening was held at the towns Masonic Hall, where the winners were presented with the Phil Williams-Blake memorial shield and a disco, raffle and buffet were available to raise more funds.

PC Mike Bowden said: The NHCISC provide an invaluable service to anyone who has been touched by cancer and it was an honour to raise funds to help them continue their invaluable work.

We were lucky the weather was good throughout the day and the tournament was very competitive, with good performances from all.
