The Business and Energy Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng wrote to fuel retailers on the 17 May calling on them to do everything possible to ensure that drivers are getting a fair deal.
On 11 June he wrote to Dr Andrea Coscelli CBE, the Chief Executive of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), requesting an urgent review of the fuel market, following concerns drivers arent getting a fair deal for fuel across the country.

On 8 July the Secretary of State wrote to the CMA thanking them for their initial report on the market for road fuel, following his request for an urgent review.
On 22 December the Business and Energy Secretary Grant Shapps wrote to fuel retailers calling on them to do everything possible to ensure that drivers are getting a fair deal.
