Business and Energy Secretary Greg Clark has announced Archie Norman as Lead Non-Executive Director at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). He will sit on the BEIS Departmental Board and give advice on the future direction of the department.
Mr Norman, who will take up his position later this month (October 2016), will work closely with the Business and Energy Secretary and other BEIS ministers, as the department develops and delivers a comprehensive long-term strategy for our industrial and commercial future.

- He was previously a management consultant at McKinsey, director at GEEST, Railtrack, Kingfisher and was group Chief Executive at Asda
- IN 1997 Archie became Conservative MP for Tunbridge Wells and in 2000 he was appointed Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Transport and the Regions
- In 2010 he was appointed as Chairman of ITV plc
- Non-Executives sit on the Departmental Board, chaired by the Secretary of State. They advise on strategy, performance and the effective management of the department. They also provide independent scrutiny for the department upon request and advise on cross-government initiatives and policies.
