This independent review examines the strategic priorities for the development of womens football, and reports on the future direction of the womens game.

The Fan-Led Review of Football Governance (published November 2021) recommended that there should be a dedicated review into the future of womens football, to explore the unique circumstances and opportunities for the womens game.

In September 2022, the government launched this review of the future of womens football, chaired by former Lioness Karen Carney.

The reviews terms of reference and call for evidence were published in September 2022.
