Monitor your school attendance

Schools, their trust and local authority can access the Monitor your school attendance tool. This is available on the View your education data (VYED) service.

How to get access

To access your school attendance data:

  1. Log in to DfE Sign-in.
  2. Go to services and add services to my account.
  3. Select your organisation.
  4. Request access to VYED then the sub-service Monitor your school attendance.

This sends an email request to your schools approver. You should receive an email within 5 days from dfe.signin@education.gov.uk confirming approval.

If there are no approvers for your organisation, your request will be sent to the DfE Sign-in team to be approved.

Problems getting access

To resolve problems getting access in your DfE sign-in account, you can:

  • check the status of a request
  • find your organisations approver

If you are an approver

To access the tool for yourself, log in to DfE Sign-in and add the service view your education data and Monitor your school attendance.

To give someone else access, select the approve button in the email request from dfe.signin@education.gov.uk and follow the steps.
