Applications to open a new AP free school closed on 17 February 2023.
This guidance sets out the process for applying to set up a new AP free school as part of a partnership.
If you submitted your application forms correctly to fs.applications@education.gov.uk, you should get an acknowledgement email within 5 working days of the closing date.
Applications successfully submitted by the deadline will now be assessed. Well invite partnership applicant groups with the strongest applications to interview.

Updated to confirm that applications to open a new AP free school closed at midday on 17 February 2023.
Updated to reflect that the mandatory pre-registration closed at 5pm on Monday, 24 October 2022. Lead applicants who completed the pre-registration form have until 17 February 2023 to submit the application forms.
