Department For Education

The Public funding update list confirms the public funding status for the next academic year for the 16 to 19 qualifications that overlap with T Levels in waves 1 and 2.

This follows the Secretary of States announcement that she will conduct a short, focused review of the post-16 qualification reforms at level 3 and below.

Of the 134 qualifications on the list:

  • 95 will have 16 to 19 public funding extended to 31 July 2025 (or before, if the awarding organisation decides)

  • 39 are no longer available for delivery, so will not be publicly funded in 2024 to 2025

  1. Added 'Public funding update for qualifications that overlap with T Levels in waves 1 and 2'. Removed 'Final list of qualifications overlapping with T Levels in waves 1 and 2'.

  2. Updated the final list of qualifications that overlap with waves 1 and 2 T Levels to include those that overlap with health and science T Levels. This also includes an updated equalities impact assessment and enrolment data.

  3. We have updated 'Final list of qualifications overlapping with T Levels in waves 1 and 2 (excluding health and science)' and 'Enrolments on the final list of qualifications overlapping with T Levels in waves 1 and 2 (excluding health and science)' to correct a minor date error in the publishing date on the notes page of each document.

  4. We have updated the page with 'Final list of qualifications overlapping with T Levels in waves 1 and 2 (excluding Health and Science)', 'Enrolments on the final list of qualifications overlapping with T Levels in waves 1 and 2 (excluding Health and Science)' and 'Equalities impact assessment.'

  5. Added 'Enrolments on qualifications on the provisional overlap list' and 'Revised equalities impact assessment' as the original version was based on an incorrect cohort of 16 to 19 year olds. The revision does not change the conclusions drawn.

  6. First published.
