Letter confirming an exemption for Stadler Class 93 trains from the requirements of the Rolling Stock Locomotive and Passenger National Technical Specification Notices, due to the implementation of an innovative solution.

The exemption is to allow a hybrid coupler system to be used which has different technical specifications than is normally permitted.

The letter is published as part of the requirements in the Railways (Interoperability) Regulations 2011.
