Statistics on the supply of renewable fuels, reported under the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation for 2023, based on data available as of 5 August 2024.

This is the fifth of 5 provisional reports for 2023 and contains an incomplete dataset for the year. Following all 5 provisional reports, the complete and finalised dataset will be published in November 2024 alongside the final report for 2023.

Following user feedback, provisional releases are no longer produced and published in report format and are published as tables only. The final report and tables for the 2023 reporting period is due to be published in November 2024.

The report and accompanying tables include information on the:

  • amount of UK road transport fuel from renewable and fossil fuel
  • number of Renewable Transport Fuel Certificates (RTFCs) which have been issued to fuel meeting the sustainability requirements
  • balance ofRTFCsby obligation period
  • trades ofRTFCsbetween suppliers and traders
  • carbon and sustainability characteristics of the renewable fuel to whichRTFCshave been issued
  • voluntary scheme data of renewable transport fuel
