Transparency data: DfT value for money indicator

Department For Transport

December 19
12:25 2022

Details

The indicator gives the proportion of project spending that is assessed to be high and very high value for money according to our framework. It includes projects that have received final approval in the reported calendar year.

The indicator reports on the value for money these projects are expected to deliver, when the investment decision is made, rather than the value for money achieved once implemented. The report aims to provide transparency on decision-making rather than monitor and evaluate performance.

The value for money indicator metric has been published annually since 2011 as part of the Department for Transports Single Departmental Plan.

This guidance was previously published as a PDF. See the UK Government Web Archive.
