Universal Credit is now available in over 80% of all jobcentres across the country, helping people to find work faster and earn more, with over a quarter of a million claims so far.
The new system is designed to ensure people will always be better off in work. People claiming Universal Credit are significantly more likely to move find employment than those on Jobseekers Allowance and for the first time ever, we are supporting claimants to earn more and progress in their careers.
Today, single jobseekers will be able to claim Universal Credit in:

- Beverley
- Hessle
- Sheffield Bailey Court
- Sheffield Cavendish Court
- Sheffield Chambers Court (Chapeltown)
- Sheffield Eastern Avenue
- Sheffield Hillsborough
- Sheffield Woodhouse
- Eltham
- Woolwich
- Mitcham
- Bromley
