Driver Vehicle Standards Agency
You can request your approved driving instructor (ADI) driving test data report (sometimes called a driver test analysis report) to help you understand how your pupils are performing in their driving tests.
You do not need to request a report if youve been asked to book an ADI standards check. The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) will send your report to you if you accept a phone appointment with a DVSA examiner before your standards check.
Request your report
Request your ADI driving test data report online.
You need your ADI personal reference number. You can find this on your ADI badge (certificate).
This service will be unavailable from 8am on Monday 3 July to 5pm on Tuesday 4 July.
What happens next
DVSA will send you your report by email.
DVSA aims to send your report to you within 28 days. This is because DVSA prioritises sending reports to ADIs who have been asked to book a standards check.
Use your report
You can use your report to help you:
- understand how your pupils are performing in their driving tests
- identify training skills you might need to improve
What your report shows
Your report shows how your pupils have performed in their driving tests for the last 12 months. It shows the total number of:
- pupils who took a test
- tests taken
- tests passed
- tests you accompanied
- faults recorded against each category on the driving test report form
It also shows the:
- overall pass rate
- average number of driving faults made per test
- average number of serious faults made per test
- average number of dangerous faults made per test
You can also see how many times an examiner had to take:
- verbal action (saying something) to avoid an incident - this is shown as ETA/V on the report
- physical action (taking control of the car) to avoid an incident - this is shown as ETA/P on the report

Improving your training skills
You can find driving instructor training courses to help you improve your training skills.
This counts as continuing professional development.
