Environment Agency
Determination
After a period of consultation, the Environment Agency has decided to change the Statutory Main River map across the West Midlands, and Cumbria and Lancashire areas to correct known inaccuracies in the Main River map as per the proposal notice, with the exception of a small number of locations where we are maintaining the existing alignment following public objections.
The Environment Agency is making this change as a determination under section 193C(1) of the Water Resources Act 1991. This determination represents a formal decision to change the main river map.
The main river map will be formally changed to reflect the determination on 11 January 2023.
Appeals
Following an appeal submitted to the Secretary of State, the Environment Agency has decided to withdraw the proposed Main River alignment in the vicinity of Old Rectory Green, Aughton, Ormskirk.
