Environment Agency
The Environment Agency has produced this annual report since 2012. In 2018 it also produced a 6 year summary covering the period 1 April 2011 to 31 March 2017.
The Environment Agency uses information from its own staff and other risk management authorities. It describes the extensive work undertaken by all risk management authorities to:
- manage the risks from flooding and coastal erosion
- achieve the objectives of the National Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM) Strategy for England
- plan for future flood and coastal erosion risk
It also reports how lead local flood authorities have progressed on their local strategies and asset registers.
The Environment Agency must produce these reports each year under section 18 of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 and the National FCERM Strategy for England.
