Guidance: River Thames: restrictions and closures

Thursday 17 March 2022 to late September 2022 Godstow reach Reconstruction and replacement of Godstow Trout Weir 2022: there will be considerable disruption during construction works for the replacement of the trout weir in the Godstow reach.

River restrictions: updated 7 July 2022

Sunday 19 June, Sunday 7 August, and Sunday 18 September 2022 7:30am to 12pm Kings and Eynsham reach Swim Oxford 2022: swimming will start at Eynsham Lock and continue downstream to the head of Kings Lock.
Tuesday 28 June to Monday 11 July 2022 9am to 5pm Bray reach Refurbishment of Maidenhead Flow Gauge 2022: passage through Maidenhead Bridge will be limited to one arch during the dates stated.
Monday 4 July to Sunday 10 July 2022 Henley reach Henley Music Festival 2022: all boats travelling downstream must be navigated within the regatta course and all boats travelling upstream must be navigated on the Buckinghamshire bank/Fawley side of the river.
Friday 8 July to Saturday 9 July 2022 7am to 6pm Henley reach Henley Masters Regatta 2022: the navigation channel will be on the Buckinghamshire Bank, Fawley Court side of the river.
Saturday 9 July 2022 9am to 5pm Sunbury reach Thames Valley Skiff Club Regatta 2022: the navigation channel will be on the Middlesex, right hand side of the river.
Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 July 2022 8am to 7pm Teddington reach Kingston Amateur Regatta 2022: the navigation channel will be on the Surrey, left hand side of the river.
Sunday 10 July 2022 7am to 7:45am Marsh reach Wargrave Sprint Triathlon 2022: the navigation channel will be on the Oxfordshire, Shiplake side of the river.
Sunday 10 July 2022 8am to 4:30pm Henley reach Henley Swim Festival 2022: the navigation channel will be on the Buckinghamshire bank/Fawley Court side of the river.
Sunday 10 July 2022 10am to 5pm Dreadnought reach Southern Area Sea Cadets Regatta 2022: the navigation channel will be on the right, Oxfordshire, non-towpath side of the river.
Tuesday 12 July to Monday 18 July 2022 Henley reach Thames Traditional Boat Festival 2022: the navigation channel will be on the Remenham, left hand side of the river, along the Henley Regatta Course.
Saturday 16 July 2022 11am to 3pm Marlow reach Bisham Dragon Boat Racing 2022: the navigation channel will be on the right, Marlow side of the river.
Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 July 2022 8am to 6pm Molesey reach Molesey Amateur Regatta 2022: the navigation channel will be on the Middlesex, right hand side of the river, including the Middlesex channel around Platts Eyot.
Sunday 17 July 2022 9am to 4:30pm Teddington reach Kingston Rotary Club Dragon Boat Event 2022: the navigation channel will be on the Middlesex bank, right hand side of the river.
Tuesday 19 July to Friday 12 August 2022 Henley reach Deconstruction of the Henley Royal Regatta course 2022: boats travelling downstream must navigate within the regatta course. Boats travelling upstream must navigate on the Buckinghamshire bank/Fawley side of the regatta course.
Saturday 23 July 2022 6:15pm to 9pm Henley reach Henley Club to Pub Swim 2022: the navigation channel will be on the Wargrave Road, left side of Bird Island and Rod Eyot.
Saturday 23 July 2022 9am to 3:30pm Teddington reach Hampton Court and Dittons Regatta 2022: the navigation channel will be on the Middlesex, right hand side of the river.
Saturday 23 July 2022 9am to 6:30pm Penton Hook reach Stained Amateur Regatta 2022: the navigation channel will be on the left, Surrey side of the river.
Wednesday 27 July 2022 5pm to 6:30pm Hurley reach K1 Single Kayak Marathon 2022: the navigation channel will be on the right, Medmenham, Buckinghamshire side of the river.
Thursday 28 July 2022 10am to 2pm Hurley reach K1 and K2 Kayak Sprints 2022: the navigation channel will be on the right, Medmenham, Buckinghamshire side of the river.
Friday 29 July 2022 10am to 11am Hurley reach K2 Double Kayak Marathon 2022: the navigation channel will be on the right, Medmenham, Buckinghamshire side of the river.
Saturday 30 July 2022 6am to 6:30pm Shepperton reach Chertsey and Shepperton Regatta 2022: the navigation channel will be on the left, Surrey side of the river.
