Use this service to apply for a building assessment certificate (BAC) if:
- you are the principal accountable person of a registered high-rise residential building
- the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) has told you to apply for a BAC
High-rise residential buildings are known as higher-risk buildings under the Building Safety Act 2022.
You must submit your BAC application within 28 calendar days of BSR telling you to apply.
Before you start

To apply for a BAC, youll need to:
- confirm the information BSR holds is up to date
- upload your safety case report
- upload information about your mandatory occurrence reporting system
- upload your resident engagement strategy
- provide serial numbers of any compliance notices issued by BSR that are currently in force
- confirm that you, and any other accountable persons for the building are providing building information to relevant individuals and organisations
Youll need to provide payment card or invoice details to pay:
- the application charge of 288 (including VAT)
- for the work done by BSR to assess the application as set out in theBSR charging schemeon the HSE website
You can provide a purchase order number if you need it on the invoices.
