At Autumn Statement 2022, the Chancellor announced a Pro-innovation Regulation of Technologies Review to advise how the UK can better regulate emerging technologies.Sir Patrick Vallance, as Government Chief Scientific Adviser and lead of the Review, wrote to the Chancellor in February 2023 to set out his initial views about the key challenges, relevant principles and the best approach for pro-innovation regulation.
