This circular publishes amendments to Annexes F and U made under the Police Regulations 2003 to implement the police pay award for 2023 to 2024, with effect from 1 September 2023. This includes removal of Part 2B from Annex F (Police Constables appointed on a Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship Scheme).
Annex U provides flexibility for chief constables to make discretionary payments of up to 5,000 a year to recruit and retain officers in service critical or demanding roles. This flexibility was due to cease on 30 June 2024 but has now been extended to 30 June 2026.
Further amendments have been made to Annex U to remove allowances that have been phased out:
- Special Priority Payments
- Post-Related Allowances for chief superintendents
- Non-Consolidated Award
