This page contains guidance for responsible owners, drivers, operators and hauliers on how to secure vehicles to prevent unauthorised access by would-be clandestine migrants.
A clandestine entrant is a person who knowingly enters the UK by hiding in or on a vehicle to avoid going through UK border control.
This page includes a draft of the new code of practice: level of penalty, which is due to come into effect on 13 February. Further guidance in multiple languages will also be available on this page shortly.
