Mark Cheetham hasbeen appointed as a clinical member of the Independent Reconfiguration Panel for four years from1 November 2024 to 31 October 2028.

Mark is a consultant general and colorectal surgeon at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust and the National Clinical Lead for General Surgery at the Getting it Right First Time Programme in NHS England.

The Independent Reconfiguration Panel provides independent advice to the government about reconfigurations and changes to NHS services in England.

This role will involve a time commitment of 1 to 2 days per month, and remuneration at 300 per day.?

This appointment is made in accordance with the Cabinet Office Code of Governance for Public Appointments.The regulation of public appointments against the requirements of this code is carried out by the Commissioner for Public Appointments.
